This notice explains what personal data we handle, why, and your rights. We keep it plain.
TriggerFeed is a service of Bloor Engineering Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 14230472), registered office 11 Pennine Way, Swadlincote, DE11 9EX. In these pages "we", "us" and "our" mean Bloor Engineering Ltd trading as TriggerFeed. You can reach us at george@triggerfeed.co.uk.
Bloor Engineering Ltd is the data controller for the personal data described here.
1. The data we handle
Data about you, our customer
- Account data: your email address, company name, and a securely hashed password.
- Billing data: handled by GoCardless for Direct Debit. We hold the mandate and subscription references, not your full bank details.
- Usage data: log data, the pages and leads you view, and, with your consent, analytics and session replay to help us improve the product.
Business opening data in the feed
The core dataset is built from public UK local authority planning registers and enriched with publicly available business contact information. This can include the name and contact details of a business, and in some cases an individual connected to a planning application where that information is already public. We process this on the basis of our legitimate interests in providing a business intelligence service, balanced against the limited, business facing and already public nature of the information.
2. Why we use it and our lawful bases
- To provide the service (your account, the feed, exports): performance of our contract with you.
- To run and improve the product, keep it secure, and prevent misuse: our legitimate interests.
- To build the openings dataset from public records: our legitimate interests, as above.
- Analytics and session replay: your consent, which you give or decline in the cookie banner and can change at any time.
3. Cookies
We use a small number of cookies and similar storage:
- Essential (always on): a login session cookie so the member area works, and a small cookie that remembers an invite you have already opened. These are strictly necessary and set no marketing.
- Analytics and session replay (only with consent): our own, self hosted analytics and a session replay tool that help us see how the site is used and fix problems. These load only if you choose "Accept all". Choose "Essential only" and they never load.
You can change your choice by clearing this site's storage in your browser, which brings the banner back.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We use a small set of processors to run the service:
- GoCardless for Direct Debit payments.
- Our hosting provider (servers located in the European Union) to run the site and store data.
- Our own analytics and session replay, self hosted on the same infrastructure, used only with your consent.
We may also disclose data where the law requires it.
5. Where your data is held
Our servers are located in the European Union. Where data moves between the UK and the EU, it is protected by the UK and EU data protection frameworks, which recognise each other as providing adequate protection.
6. How long we keep it
We keep account and billing records for as long as you have an account and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet legal and accounting obligations. Openings data from public registers is retained while it remains useful to the service and refreshed over time.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict use of your personal data, to object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, email george@triggerfeed.co.uk.
Are you a business owner whose public planning application appears here? If you would like your enriched contact details removed from the feed, email us and we will remove them.
If you are not happy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
